What did Trump offer to Putin?
According to Russia’s rep in the UN Nebenzya, “the incoming US administration” proposed “nothing of interest” to Russia.
“These are unformed, vague signals of readiness for something. We often hear the term 'freezing the conflict.' Putin most recently, on December 19, clearly outlined the conditions under which we are ready to discuss not freezing but fully resolving this conflict, provided our legitimate security interests are respected. However, nothing from the signals coming from the incoming US administration suggests anything of interest to us,” Nebenzya stated.
Nebenzya also stated that Ukraine recently sent "signals of certain agreements," but these cannot be taken seriously.
“The question is, when will President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, for instance, finally take the step of sitting down at the negotiating table, and at what line of contact this will happen. The longer it takes, the worse the conditions will be for him; he has been warned about this for some time. The decision lies with him,” Nebenzya concluded.
Strange that the Russians do not think that the situation can get worse for them. Right now, Ukraine is expanding its territorial gains in the Kursk region of Russia.
Previously, Lavrov stated that they would not participate in the 2nd World Peace Summit, even if Russia were officially invited.
Putin only wants Ukraine to capitulate, on the same conditions as in March 2022.
Putin hopes that Trump will coerce Zelenskyy for him.
