How prepared is the Ukrainian Army for combat?

I recently visited a Ukrainian army unit in the Donbas region.

We were delivering supplies and were given the coordinates of their assembly area. When we arrived late at night, the place was completely empty. Not a single person was in sight, and we were alone in a large forest.

We checked the location several times and confirmed it was correct. Then, someone called us and told us to wait. It was freezing, about minus ten degrees Celsius, and the wind made it even worse.

After about ten minutes, the forest suddenly came alive. Soldiers started appearing quietly from the darkness around us. They led us to their position, and we realized a whole brigade was stationed there. Their heavy weapons, vehicles, and living quarters were all perfectly hidden.

Everything was well-organized, and the soldiers moved with discipline and calm. Despite the hardships of the war, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have adapted incredibly well.

They’ve become a tough, battle-ready army that can face the Russians anytime, anywhere.
