How have Ukrainian forces demonstrated their ability to cause chaos far from the front lines?

As Putin was landing in Belarus last night — for a surprise meeting with Lukashenko, a massive aerial attack on military targets in Crimea shuttered the Russian-occupied peninsula. (Video in the comments below.)

The Ukrainian Armed Forces attacked Crimea using drones and ATACMS missiles. Explosions were heard in Yalta, Alushta, Dzhankoy, Simferopol, Yevpatoriya and Bakhchisarai.

Reported Ukrainian strikes on Crimea last night.

Apparently, the locations of 126th Russian coastal defense brigade got hit, as well as the FSB military unit near Alushta.

A military communications unit was hit near the village of Semidvorye.

At least 6 MGM-140 ATACMS ballistic missiles hit the communications center of the radar and air defense forces of the Russian Army.

Locals report that 4 ambulances and 2 fire trucks rushed along the highway at high speed towards the village in Simferopol district.

The explosions were so big that nearby buildings were shaking.

Meanwhile in Russia, the head of Rosneft demanded money from the state to protect oil refineries from drones.

Igor Sechin wrote a letter to prime minister Mikhail Mishustin after Rosneft was forced to shut down 4 large oil refineries.

Reportedly, Russia already lost 20% of its fuel production, creating serious logistics problem not only for the Russian military, but also for the agriculture industry, which requires a lot of fuel during the summer season.

At the same time, the annexed regions of Donbas will be soon separated from “the old Russia” by a border strip, like in the old days the USSR had large open fields on the border.

Putin doesn’t really seem to believe that “Donbas will stay in Russia forever”, as Russian propagandists insisted.

Actions speak louder than words.
